Linden, Brown Architecture
Profile

Linden, Brown Architecture is a collective of critical thinkers and makers based in Portland, Oregon. We collaborate with clients of vision, leading projects that express a deep connection to honest materials, dynamic spaces and inspirations of landscape.

We engage in the design of buildings as an act of exploration, discovering new insights and experiences in each project. Our work is informed deeply by place, respecting the roots of land, heritage, purpose and craft. It is driven by commitments to design excellence and collaboration—with clients, builders, artists and engineers, to find inspired spaces and a richness of lived experience, connecting the scale of the site to the scale of the hand.

We are designers as makers and share a deep respect for the traditions of craft. Our work is enriched by allowing the tools and materials we use to inform every detail. Our studio is the laboratory for this exploration and a forum to discover the possibilities in every design.

L,BA was founded by Chris Brown and Brent Linden in 2018, bringing together more than 35 years of collective effort in the pursuit of architecture, with significant project experience working with cultural, creative, corporate and residential clients. Notable examples include the designs for Sequitur Winery and Farm in Newberg, Oregon, the Clyfford Still Museum in Denver Colorado, the US Embassy in Maputo, Mozambique, the National Veterans Memorial and Museum in Columbus, Ohio, the Benton County Historical Society Museum in Corvallis, Oregon and the Sokol Blosser Winery Tasting Room in Dundee, Oregon. Specialists in both the design and implementation of significant architecture, we bring the creative and organizational expertise necessary to implement each project’s shared vision.
